Tummy tuck

You can have a nice flat stomach by controlling the body weight doing the specific exercises. Often, however, after birth, gynecological operations or gain weight with age, abdomen sags. Abdominal wall plastic is the surgery, which corrects the excess fat and skin and the abdominal wall sagging.

Operation

Abdominal wall plastics (abdominoplastics) is performed under general anaesthesia. In most cases the liposuction of the upper-middle part of the abdominal wall and the hips is carried out. Then a crescent-shaped skin under skin incision (bikini line) is made. The abdominal skin slightly above the line is lifted under the rib cage, suturing the straight stomach muscles in non-soluble sutures and adjusting the abdominal wall hernia.

Then the abdominal wall soft tissues (skin and under skin) are lifted and the excess tissue is cut off. The navel is moved to a new abdominal location in the middle line of the hip proportions.

Post-operative period

The patient usually returns to work after a few weeks. He is recommended not to exercise for 2 months.

Abdominal wall plastic effect is long-term, lasting for a decade, but also partly depends on the patients' physical activity and diet habits.
