Fat suction

Liposuction is a way of "body sculpture" to help create an attractive body contour. Subcutaneous fat aspiration is recommended on the areas of the body, where the excess subcutaneous fat deforms the body contour. The quantity of sucked fat is low (ranging from 200 to 2000 ml), but this is sufficient to correct the shape. Most fat is sucked from the chin, neck, upper arm, abdomen, buttocks, and lateral areas of the thighs. Fat suction result is better if the patient's skin is elastic and firm.

Operation

Agli liposuction may be performed using local or general anaesthesia. Using local anaesthesia, fat is sucked only in small areas.

viksraitis

Curettes are used for fat suction. They are hollow stainless steel tubes of a variety of shapes and sizes with one or more suction openings. They are joined with a special pump, which creates negative 0.6 to 1.0 atmospheric pressure. Fat is sucked after making small incisions, about 1 cm.

Postoperative regimen

The sucked areas of the body are wrapped in compression bandages: using elastic wrap, special compression pants, bodices. They should be worn for 3-6 weeks. The sucked body areas may be bruised for 4-6 weeks, skin sensitivity may be decreased. It will recover within 4-6 months. Fat suction effect is seen immediately, but the contour of the body is fully formed after 3-4 months.

Operational risk

Liposuction as well as any intervention may have some reaction to the anaesthesia, temporary swelling, a feeling of tension, post-operative pain and bruising. Very rarely, bleeding, wound infection, scar hypertrophy may occur.
